Elaine Wong, based in Singapore, is a dedicated designer with a focus on rugs and textiles. Holding a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Interior Architecture from RMIT University and a Diploma in Environmental and Interior Design from LASALLE College of the Arts, Elaine brings a thoughtful blend of traditional techniques and modern design to her work.
In her role as Creative Director at Jehan Gallery, Elaine strives to merge art and design with craft, creating pieces that go beyond mere functionality to become meaningful works of art. Drawing inspiration from the vastness of the cosmos and the subtleties of daily life, she seeks to balance practicality with emotional resonance, always considering the user's experience.
Elaine’s design approach is centered around the concept of the ‘Phenomenal Space,’ a space where she finds purpose and fulfillment in creation. Each of her designs reflects a blend of personal inspirations and experiences, resulting in unique textures, weaves, and color palettes.
Her work gently reimagines traditional craftsmanship, infusing it with contemporary perspectives to create distinctive, innovative designs. Elaine’s creations honor the heritage of hand weaving while embracing new ideas, aiming to offer a humble yet impactful contribution to the world of design.
